I am a progressive educator with a BA in English Literature from Kenyon College and a Masters in Education from Bank Street College of Education. I've been teaching for 20+ years, most of it at progressive independent schools in NYC. I am a self-taught musician with a smattering of lessons here and there. My main instrument is the guitar, followed by the mandolin, piano and blues harp.
I am basically a singer-songwriter who discovered the joys of recording first with a four-track mixer, then with Cubase recording software. Next I started using GarageBand to teach 6th graders how to create their own compositions. More recently I discovered the power and low cost of FL Studio, and so this class was born.
